Artist Statement
This week in photography we focused several new techniques light painting, motion abstract/bur, and panning. Light painting is where you decrease the shutter speed of the camera and use a handheld light in a dark room. Panning is where you reduce the shutter speed and follow a moving object. Motion abstract/blur is where you decrease the shutter speed and increase the movements of the camera.  This week I experimented with all three techniques, but my favorite was the motion abstract/blur images. When editing the photos, I tested with the exposure of each of the pictures. For example, I changed the highlights, contrast, shadows, and brightness of the photo. As well I adjusted the temperature, tint, saturation, vibrancy, and fade of the image. At the end of the week, I developed six of my best pictures that fell under the motion abstract/blur category.  The results turned to be very interesting and fascinating. I can't wait to see what we learn in the next couple of weeks.

Our second assignment of the semester was to create double exposure images with previous photos from past projects. I used the Pic Monkey software to edit my photos. I then layered the two images that I had chosen. I then experimented with black & white filter and color of the pictures. The only photos that I left without the filter were the flower images. The reason behind this is because the flower would lose its place within the picture. I had a fun experience with this project, and I can't wait to see what's next.

Our first assignment of the second semester was to capture reflections within our environment. Within my surroundings, I mainly used shop windows and water to create a reflection. The majority of my reflections contained elements of nature, technology, buildings, the sky, and man-made objects.  While I was editing, I used the black and white filter to make a cohesive set of photos. I also increased and decreased the colors and exposure of each image. Overall, I am delighted with the product that I have created. I am already able to notice how much I have improved in only a couple of months. In my personal opinion, reflections can communicate with each other because they can create an entirely new world. What allows these world to become unique is that they appear to be dreamlike.
