Artist Statement:
This week in photography we learned three new and different techniques that fall under the category of pictorial lines. These three new techniques are about a line leading to a subject, decorative lines, and arrangement of lines. Lines leading to the subject is where one or multiple lines are heading in the direction of an object which is the main focus of the frame. I used my surroundings to find straight lines and manipulate my camera to have the line lead into the object. The second group of photos is about decorative lines. The rule for this type of photography is that the lines make up the majority of the picture. But if the lines were to taken away, there would still be a unique photo. Again I used my environment to find lines that are in front of a scenic area. The third technique is called an arrangement of lines. This style is where a photo is made up of line, but when the lines are taken away, there isn't a scenic photo.
